Coronavirus Response

Basic needs are increasing during this critical time. If you can help fund Food4Kids, Community Meals, or shelter assistance programs, we would be grateful for a donation of any amount.
Shelter
Our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness are vulnerable to infection by the Corona Virus, and they are more likely to have severe cases due to their circumstances. Kitsap County is working to establish 24/7 shelters to bring as many people as possible under shelter. This system is based on the Severe Weather Shelter system. It will use existing operational SWSs, plus adding additional locations to allow for proper social distancing within the shelters. There is an urgent need for supplies and equipment. Please consider designating a donation to Kingston Cares to support this effort.
Food
- North Kitsap School District is providing breakfast and lunch to any children who come to designated locations to pick up the daily food packets, Monday through Friday.
- ShareNet is providing weekend food distributions on Fridays at ShareNet.
- Kingston Cares continues to provide food for children during spring, summer, and winter school breaks through our Food4Kids program. Due to increasing numbers of children served and the additional weeks of service, Kingston Cares needs additional funding.
- The free Community Meal is distributed from 5-6 PM on the second and third Friday of each month. Kingston Cares seeks sponsors to help cover the cost of the meals.
